TicTacToe Mod for Gorilla Tag – Setup, Safety & Fixes

TicTacToe Mod shows up in older mod lists and videos, but its original source isn’t documented anywhere we could verify. So this page sticks to what holds true for it either way: install, platform support, safe use, and troubleshooting.

Installing a PC plugin like this

Drop the DLL into BepInEx/plugins, not the game root. BepInEx has to be there first: extract the x64 zip next to Gorilla Tag.exe and launch once so the folders get created. If the mod expects Utilla, install a current Utilla build. Older Utilla versions no longer load on the current game.

Common problems

Works only in modded rooms. If TicTacToe Mod depends on Utilla, it disables itself outside modded gamemodes on purpose.

Defender removed something. BepInEx’s winhttp.dll proxy gets quarantined fairly often. Restoring it is fine if BepInEx came from its GitHub releases. A flagged menu DLL deserves more suspicion, not less.

Crash at startup. Take TicTacToe Mod out of plugins first. If the game starts, the mod is the problem. If it still crashes, update BepInEx: 5.4.22 and older crash on current builds.

Platform support

Short answer: only through a PC. The game has to be running on Steam with BepInEx; a Quest connected by Link or Virtual Desktop counts, a Quest on its own doesn’t.

Where to use it

Stick to private codes and the Modded gamemodes. It’s not a competitive advantage tool, but any mod in public lobbies can draw reports.
