Getting into APE ARENA

APE ARENA doesn’t need BepInEx or any PC mod loader. It runs through the official mod.io integration, so it works on Quest and on Steam/PC VR.

1. Find APE ARENA on mod.io (mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/ape-arena) and subscribe, logged in with your linked account.
2. Jump into the Virtual Stump from the green headsets in City’s Arcade.
3. First time? Link your account from the mod.io screen in the Stump by entering its code at mod.io/connect.
4. Pick APE ARENA from the installed list on the maps terminal and load in. It’s around 36 MB, so the first load takes a bit.

Custom maps aren’t available to accounts registered under 13.

Tips

• With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
• The last update was July 8, 2025. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from Ghosstyy.
