Tango Menu PCVR for Gorilla Tag – Install, Safety & Fixes

You’ll mostly see Tango Menu PCVR in YouTube thumbnails and Discord download channels. There’s no public repository, store listing or official changelog we could verify, so we’ve left version numbers and feature lists off. What follows is the stuff that applies to it either way: how it loads, where it works, and how people get banned using menus like this.

Setup

Drop the DLL into BepInEx/plugins, not the game root. BepInEx has to be there first: extract the x64 zip next to Gorilla Tag.exe and launch once so the folders get created. If the mod expects Utilla, install a current Utilla build. Older Utilla versions no longer load on the current game.

Malware warning

Mod menus are a common way to spread malware in this scene. The Gorilla Tag wiki specifically warns that some “menus” are remote-access trojans. Scan any download, never run an .exe that claims to be a menu, and be suspicious of anything asking for your Discord or Steam login.

Does it work on Quest?

It’s PC-only. Quest players can use it only when playing the Steam version through a cable or wireless PC link. Nothing installs on the headset itself.

Troubleshooting

• Broke after an update: Game patches change the code mods hook into. If nobody maintains Tango Menu PCVR, it stays broken. There’s no setting to fix that.
• Works only in modded rooms: If Tango Menu PCVR depends on Utilla, it disables itself outside modded gamemodes on purpose.
• Crash at startup: Take Tango Menu PCVR out of plugins first. If the game starts, the mod is the problem. If it still crashes, update BepInEx: 5.4.22 and older crash on current builds.

Will it get you banned?

Menus like this are what Gorilla Tag’s anti-cheat and report system are built to catch. Another Axiom’s terms forbid cheating and unauthorised access, and the community wiki is blunt that every mod carries some ban risk. Using menu features in public lobbies is the fastest way to lose your account. “Anti-report” toggles don’t change that. Players on the Steam forums who relied on them still got banned.

The lower-risk way to experiment is a private code with friends who know what you’re running, ideally not on your main account.
