Spleef – Gorilla Tag Gamemode by LilaMcG

LilaMcG built Spleef, a small gamemode you load through Gorilla Tag’s Virtual Stump. The creator’s one-line pitch: “Spleef., if your not farmilliar, its a Combat game with projectiles and falling platforms.” The mod.io tags put it under challenge, competitive, minigames, custom game.

Getting into Spleef

Because it’s a mod.io gamemode, there’s nothing to sideload: Quest and PC players both get it through the in-game Virtual Stump.

1. Jump into the Virtual Stump from the green headsets in City’s Arcade.
2. If the terminal says you’re not linked, enter the code it shows at mod.io/connect.
3. Open mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/spleef0 and hit Subscribe. Use the same mod.io login that your headset is linked to.
4. Pick Spleef from the installed list on the maps terminal and load in. It’s around 29 MB, so the first load takes a bit.

Note: accounts registered as under 13 can’t enter the Virtual Stump.

Tips

• It’s tagged as a challenge/race map, so expect to restart sections. Learning one route properly beats rushing.
• With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
• The last update was January 25, 2026. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from LilaMcG.
