Quitbox Visualizer Mod for Gorilla Tag – Setup, Safety & Fixes

There isn’t much verifiable information about Quitbox Visualizer Mod: no public repository or changelog that we could confirm. Rather than pad this page with guesses, here’s what applies to it in practice as a BepInEx plugin for the Steam version.

Setup

Drop the DLL into BepInEx/plugins, not the game root. BepInEx has to be there first: extract the x64 zip next to Gorilla Tag.exe and launch once so the folders get created. If the mod expects Utilla, install a current Utilla build. Older Utilla versions no longer load on the current game.

Quest vs Steam

Short answer: only through a PC. The game has to be running on Steam with BepInEx; a Quest connected by Link or Virtual Desktop counts, a Quest on its own doesn’t.

Troubleshooting

Only works in some rooms. Mods built on Utilla only switch on in modded gamemodes. That’s intended.

Game crashes on launch. Move everything out of plugins and add mods back one at a time. BepInEx 5.4.22 and older crash on the current game, so update to 5.4.23.x.

Antivirus deleted files. Windows Defender sometimes removes winhttp.dll (BepInEx’s loader). Restore it if you trust your BepInEx download. Treat a flagged mod DLL with more suspicion.

Nothing happens in-game. Check BepInEx/LogOutput.log. If the plugin isn’t mentioned, it isn’t loading: wrong folder, missing dependency, or a build made for an older game version.

Using it safely

Use it in a modded gamemode or a private room. Public lobbies are where reports happen, and the wiki is clear that no mod is risk-free.
