Monke Mod Manager for Gorilla Tag – Which Version to Use in 2026

Monke Mod Manager (MMM) is the Windows installer most people used to put BepInEx, Utilla and popular mods into Gorilla Tag. Which version you grab matters.

Original vs maintained fork

• DeadlyKitten/MonkeModManager was the original. Its repository was archived on June 10, 2023.
• BzzzThe18th/MonkeModManager is the continuation. The latest release is 2.0.3 (January 6, 2024), a single MonkeModManager.exe, MIT-licensed. It pulls the latest release of each listed mod from GitHub every time you run it, so re-running it updates your mods.

How to use it

1. Download MonkeModManager.exe from the BzzzThe18th releases page.
2. Run it. It should find your Steam Gorilla Tag folder automatically; if not, browse to it.
3. Tick the mods you want (BepInEx and Utilla are the base) and click install.
4. Launch the game once so BepInEx sets itself up.

Fakes to avoid

Search results include repos with names like “MonkeModManager-2026” or “Ape Mod Loader” from unrelated accounts. These aren’t the project. The real fork has a short, readable README and the source code in the repository. If a “mod manager” asks you to disable antivirus or comes as a password-protected zip, close it.

Limits

It only works on the PC/Steam version. It doesn’t include menus or cheats, only mods submitted to the maintainer. Since game updates can break the mod list it installs, a newer manual BepInEx (5.4.23.x) and Utilla (sirkingbinx) setup may be needed.
