Custom Platforms Manager for Gorilla Tag – How to Run It on PC
Custom Platforms Manager shows up in older mod lists and videos, but its original source isn’t documented anywhere we could verify. So this page sticks to what holds true for it either way: install, platform support, safe use, and troubleshooting.
Setup
Setup is the standard PC routine. Install BepInEx 5.4.23.x (x64) and launch once, add Utilla if the mod needs it, then place the DLL in the plugins folder. Monke Mod Manager can install BepInEx and Utilla for you, but it won’t list most unofficial mods.
Platform support
Short answer: only through a PC. The game has to be running on Steam with BepInEx; a Quest connected by Link or Virtual Desktop counts, a Quest on its own doesn’t.
When it doesn’t work
Only works in some rooms. Mods built on Utilla only switch on in modded gamemodes. That’s intended.
Antivirus deleted files. Windows Defender sometimes removes winhttp.dll (BepInEx’s loader). Restore it if you trust your BepInEx download. Treat a flagged mod DLL with more suspicion.
Worked last week, broken now. A Gorilla Tag update most likely changed something the mod hooks into. Unmaintained mods don’t get fixed; remove it and check for a newer build.
Nothing happens in-game. Check BepInEx/LogOutput.log. If the plugin isn’t mentioned, it isn’t loading: wrong folder, missing dependency, or a build made for an older game version.
Using it safely
Stick to private codes and the Modded gamemodes. It’s not a competitive advantage tool, but any mod in public lobbies can draw reports.
