ShibaGT Dark Mod Menu: What's Known About It & Risks

ShibaGT Dark comes from the menu developer known as ShibaGT (he also goes by “tai”). His GitHub profile lists his menus in order: XYZ, then Dark, which he calls “da best free menu of its time”, then Gold (his first paid menu), then Genesis and later projects. That explains why Dark still gets searched: for a while it was the free menu people grabbed.

Versions in circulation

A Nexus Mods listing titled “ShibaGT Dark Menu” carries version 7.0. We couldn’t find an official changelog for earlier builds, and Shiba’s attention moved to his later menus, so expect Dark to be outdated against current game updates. If it crashes or nothing appears, that’s the likeliest reason.

Watch out for fakes

The Gorilla Tag community wiki names “shiba menu” when it warns that some downloadable menus are remote-access trojans. That’s not a claim about Shiba’s own build. It’s about how popular names get reused to spread malware. A real menu is a single DLL for BepInEx/plugins. Anything that arrives as an .exe, asks you to turn off your antivirus, or wants a Discord login is not it.

Running it

Like every PC menu, it needs BepInEx 5 (x64) installed in the Steam copy of Gorilla Tag. Standalone Quest can’t load it. Many of its features affect other players, which is exactly what reports and the anti-cheat catch, so keep it to a private room code, ideally on a spare account. Another Axiom’s terms forbid cheating, and an old menu won’t protect you.

If you want something maintained

Shiba’s later menus replaced Dark, and plenty of creators use non-cheating mods like Bark or Walk Simulator that only run in modded lobbies. Those carry far less risk for movement fun.
