KS Menu for Gorilla Tag – Install, Safety & Fixes

You’ll mostly see KS Menu in YouTube thumbnails and Discord download channels. There’s no public repository, store listing or official changelog we could verify, so we’ve left version numbers and feature lists off. What follows is the stuff that applies to it either way: how it loads, where it works, and how people get banned using menus like this.
Setup
Setup is the standard PC routine. Install BepInEx 5.4.23.x (x64) and launch once, add Utilla if the mod needs it, then place the DLL in the plugins folder. Monke Mod Manager can install BepInEx and Utilla for you, but it won’t list most unofficial mods.
Malware warning
Mod menus are a common way to spread malware in this scene. The Gorilla Tag wiki specifically warns that some “menus” are remote-access trojans. Scan any download, never run an .exe that claims to be a menu, and be suspicious of anything asking for your Discord or Steam login.
Does it work on Quest?
BepInEx plugins only run on the PC (Steam) build of Gorilla Tag. A Quest can use them only while it’s streaming the PC game over Link, Air Link or Virtual Desktop. Standalone Quest can’t load them.
Common problems
- Broke after an update: Game patches change the code mods hook into. If nobody maintains KS Menu, it stays broken. There’s no setting to fix that.
- Crash at startup: Take KS Menu out of
pluginsfirst. If the game starts, the mod is the problem. If it still crashes, update BepInEx: 5.4.22 and older crash on current builds. - Nothing happens in-game: Open
BepInEx/LogOutput.logand search for KS Menu. No mention means BepInEx never loaded it. Usually that’s the wrong folder, a missing dependency, or a build compiled against an older game. - Works only in modded rooms: If KS Menu depends on Utilla, it disables itself outside modded gamemodes on purpose.
The honest ban risk
Assume any menu used around other people can get you banned. That’s the game’s position (its terms forbid cheating) and the community wiki’s (“all mods come with a risk of a ban”). Features that affect other players are the most likely to get flagged.
If you try it at all, do it on a spare account, in a private room code, with nobody else in it.
