Loading Volcano in Gorilla Tag

Volcano doesn’t need BepInEx or any PC mod loader. It runs through the official mod.io integration, so it works on Quest and on Steam/PC VR.

1. Open mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/volcano and hit Subscribe. Use the same mod.io login that your headset is linked to.
2. In City, walk into the Arcade and use a green VR headset; that takes you to the Virtual Stump.
3. Not linked yet? The account screen in the Stump gives you a code to type in at mod.io/connect.
4. Pick Volcano from the installed list on the maps terminal and load in. Expect a ~19 MB download the first time.

Under-13 accounts are blocked from the Virtual Stump, so this won’t show up for them.

Tips

• It’s a light download (about 19 MB), so it loads quickly even on slow Wi-Fi.
• It’s tagged Hangout, which usually means it’s best with a few friends in a private code rather than a full random lobby.
• With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
• The last update was May 15, 2025. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from StyledSnail.
