The Dropper comes from mod.io creator ajttvr. It’s a medium-sized map for the official Gorilla Tag custom map system. On its mod.io listing it’s summed up as “This map is all about parkour and making it to the bottom without hitting any objects. It’s a fun and challenging map that’s even better to play with your friends. More levels coming soon…” It’s tagged on mod.io as challenge, so that’s the kind of session to expect.

How to play The Dropper

The Dropper doesn’t need BepInEx or any PC mod loader. It runs through the official mod.io integration, so it works on Quest and on Steam/PC VR.

  1. Head to the Arcade in City and put on one of the green headsets to drop into the Virtual Stump.
  2. Not linked yet? The account screen in the Stump gives you a code to type in at mod.io/connect.
  3. Open mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/thedropper and hit Subscribe. Use the same mod.io login that your headset is linked to.
  4. On the maps terminal, show installed maps only, pick The Dropper and load it. Expect a ~12 MB download the first time.

Custom maps aren’t available to accounts registered under 13.

Before you jump in

  • It’s a light download (about 12 MB), so it loads quickly even on slow Wi-Fi.
  • It’s tagged as a challenge/race map, so expect to restart sections. Learning one route properly beats rushing.
