Loading The Tower in Gorilla Tag

The Tower doesn’t need BepInEx or any PC mod loader. It runs through the official mod.io integration, so it works on Quest and on Steam/PC VR.

1. Subscribe to The Tower at mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/the-tower1 while logged in to the mod.io account you’ve linked to Gorilla Tag.
2. In City, walk into the Arcade and use a green VR headset; that takes you to the Virtual Stump.
3. Not linked yet? The account screen in the Stump gives you a code to type in at mod.io/connect.
4. Use the terminal to filter to installed maps, then select The Tower and press load. It’s around 13 MB, so the first load takes a bit.

Custom maps aren’t available to accounts registered under 13.

Tips

• It’s a light download (about 13 MB), so it loads quickly even on slow Wi-Fi.
• It’s tagged as a challenge/race map, so expect to restart sections. Learning one route properly beats rushing.
• With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
• The last update was February 11, 2026. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from Connor-David.
