How to play The Scrapyard

Because it’s a mod.io map, there’s nothing to sideload: Quest and PC players both get it through the in-game Virtual Stump.

1. In City, walk into the Arcade and use a green VR headset; that takes you to the Virtual Stump.
2. If the terminal says you’re not linked, enter the code it shows at mod.io/connect.
3. Open mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/the-scrapyard and hit Subscribe. Use the same mod.io login that your headset is linked to.
4. Use the terminal to filter to installed maps, then select The Scrapyard and press load. The first load pulls about 35 MB.

Note: accounts registered as under 13 can’t enter the Virtual Stump.

Things worth knowing

• It’s tagged Hangout, which usually means it’s best with a few friends in a private code rather than a full random lobby.
• The Roleplay tag means much of the fun depends on the group you play with. Agree on the scenario before you start.
• With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
• The last update was August 5, 2025. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from Cheese_Eater1.
