Getting into The Climb

The Climb doesn’t need BepInEx or any PC mod loader. It runs through the official mod.io integration, so it works on Quest and on Steam/PC VR.

1. Head to the Arcade in City and put on one of the green headsets to drop into the Virtual Stump.
2. First time? Link your account from the mod.io screen in the Stump by entering its code at mod.io/connect.
3. Subscribe to The Climb at mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/the-climb1 while logged in to the mod.io account you’ve linked to Gorilla Tag.
4. Use the terminal to filter to installed maps, then select The Climb and press load. The first load pulls about 38 MB.

Custom maps aren’t available to accounts registered under 13.

Things worth knowing

• It’s tagged as a challenge/race map, so expect to restart sections. Learning one route properly beats rushing.
• The last update was July 8, 2025. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from Terriot.
