Getting into The Abandoned Caverns

You don’t install The Abandoned Caverns like a PC mod. Gorilla Tag downloads it for you once you’re subscribed, on Quest or PC.

1. Subscribe to The Abandoned Caverns at mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/the-abandoned-caverns while logged in to the mod.io account you’ve linked to Gorilla Tag.
2. Jump into the Virtual Stump from the green headsets in City’s Arcade.
3. Not linked yet? The account screen in the Stump gives you a code to type in at mod.io/connect.
4. On the maps terminal, show installed maps only, pick The Abandoned Caverns and load it. The first load pulls about 25 MB.

Note: accounts registered as under 13 can’t enter the Virtual Stump.

Before you jump in

• It’s tagged Hangout, which usually means it’s best with a few friends in a private code rather than a full random lobby.
• The Roleplay tag means much of the fun depends on the group you play with. Agree on the scenario before you start.
• With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
• The last update was June 4, 2025. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from BagelCommitsThings.
