Super Mario 64 Bob-omb Battlefield Map is a fan-made Gorilla Tag map that was shared as a standalone file rather than through the official mod.io system. We couldn’t find a current official listing for it, so this page explains what that means for actually playing it today.
Playing a legacy map file
Standalone map files were built for the community Monke Map Loader, a PC BepInEx mod whose last release (1.2.2) is from June 2023. It needs BepInEx, Utilla, Computer Interface, Bepinject/Extenject and Newtonsoft.Json. Current game updates may stop it loading at all.
If you’re on Quest, or you just want something that works today, the official route is mod.io maps in the Virtual Stump (Arcade in City → green headset). Where to use it
Keep gameplay mods to modded gamemodes or private codes. Another Axiom’s terms forbid cheating, and the community wiki notes that every mod carries some ban risk, even in modded rooms.
Platform support
Short answer: only through a PC. The game has to be running on Steam with BepInEx; a Quest connected by Link or Virtual Desktop counts, a Quest on its own doesn’t.
Common problems
- Nothing happens in-game: Open
BepInEx/LogOutput.logand search for Super Mario 64 Bob-omb Battlefield Map. No mention means BepInEx never loaded it. Usually that’s the wrong folder, a missing dependency, or a build compiled against an older game. - Broke after an update: Game patches change the code mods hook into. If nobody maintains Super Mario 64 Bob-omb Battlefield Map, it stays broken. There’s no setting to fix that.
- Defender removed something: BepInEx’s
winhttp.dllproxy gets quarantined fairly often. Restoring it is fine if BepInEx came from its GitHub releases. A flagged menu DLL deserves more suspicion, not less. - Crash at startup: Take Super Mario 64 Bob-omb Battlefield Map out of
