Solar Explore [UPDATE] – Gorilla Tag Custom Map by YanYanGotBananas Gorilla Tag mod cover preview

Solar Explore [UPDATE] comes from mod.io creator YanYanGotBananas. It’s a medium-sized map for the official Gorilla Tag custom map system. On its mod.io listing it’s summed up as “Welcome to Solar Explore! Bounce to each planet as you fly across space. Take in the beautiful environment or play infection with your friends :D You can grab onto stuff by pressing trigger. Hope you have fun and enjoy!” The mod.io tags put it under challenge, competitive, minigames, roleplay, hangout.

Loading Solar Explore [UPDATE] in Gorilla Tag

Because it’s a mod.io map, there’s nothing to sideload: Quest and PC players both get it through the in-game Virtual Stump.

  1. Jump into the Virtual Stump from the green headsets in City’s Arcade.
  2. If the terminal says you’re not linked, enter the code it shows at mod.io/connect.
  3. Open mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/solar-explore and hit Subscribe. Use the same mod.io login that your headset is linked to.
  4. Pick Solar Explore [UPDATE] from the installed list on the maps terminal and load in. It’s around 41 MB, so the first load takes a bit.

Note: accounts registered as under 13 can’t enter the Virtual Stump.

Before you jump in

  • It’s tagged as a challenge/race map, so expect to restart sections. Learning one route properly beats rushing.
  • It’s tagged Hangout, which usually means it’s best with a few friends in a private code rather than a full random lobby.
  • The Roleplay tag means much of the fun depends on the group you play with. Agree on the scenario before you start.
  • With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
