Getting into Mount Monkemore

You don’t install Mount Monkemore like a PC mod. Gorilla Tag downloads it for you once you’re subscribed, on Quest or PC.

1. Head to the Arcade in City and put on one of the green headsets to drop into the Virtual Stump.
2. If the terminal says you’re not linked, enter the code it shows at mod.io/connect.
3. Find Mount Monkemore on mod.io (mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/mountmonkemore) and subscribe, logged in with your linked account.
4. Use the terminal to filter to installed maps, then select Mount Monkemore and press load. It’s around 22 MB, so the first load takes a bit.

Under-13 accounts are blocked from the Virtual Stump, so this won’t show up for them.

Things worth knowing

• It’s a light download (about 22 MB), so it loads quickly even on slow Wi-Fi.
• It’s tagged Hangout, which usually means it’s best with a few friends in a private code rather than a full random lobby.
• The Roleplay tag means much of the fun depends on the group you play with. Agree on the scenario before you start.
• With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
• The last update was November 9, 2024. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from Geobyte_.
