How to play Monke Island

Monke Island doesn’t need BepInEx or any PC mod loader. It runs through the official mod.io integration, so it works on Quest and on Steam/PC VR.

1. Jump into the Virtual Stump from the green headsets in City’s Arcade.
2. If the terminal says you’re not linked, enter the code it shows at mod.io/connect.
3. Find Monke Island on mod.io (mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/monke-island1) and subscribe, logged in with your linked account.
4. Pick Monke Island from the installed list on the maps terminal and load in. It’s around 15 MB, so the first load takes a bit.

Custom maps aren’t available to accounts registered under 13.

Before you jump in

• It’s a light download (about 15 MB), so it loads quickly even on slow Wi-Fi.
• The last update was November 1, 2024. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from Axol_e.
