What Is The Favelas Map?

The Favelas is an intense, multi-tiered urban parkour arena designed specifically for high-speed Gorilla Tag infection matches. Modeled after dense hillside shantytowns, the map is a maze of stacked brick dwellings, rusted corrugated tin roofs, telephone wires, wooden water tanks, and narrow 2-meter alleyways.

Unlike wide open maps where lava monkes can spot you from across the map, The Favelas breaks line of sight constantly, making it the premier playground for juking, wall-rebounding, and stealthy rooftop navigation.

Strategic Zones & Vertical Layers

• The Ground Alleys: The lowest layer. Narrow corridors flanked by high brick walls on either side. Ideal for chaining rapid alternating wall-bounces to escape ground pursuers.
• The Mid-Tier Balconies: Wooden scaffolding, hanging laundry lines, and fire escapes that provide horizontal traversal paths between buildings without touching the streets.
• The Rooftop Highway: The top layer of the map. Tin roofs angled at 15 to 30 degrees let skilled players slide and launch themselves across wide street chasms.
• The Hillside Overlook: The highest point on the map, crowned with a giant metal water tower that offers a commanding 360-degree view of incoming taggers.

Pro Juking Techniques in The Favelas

1. The Window Ledge Rebound: When being chased down a narrow hallway, slap the wall to vault into an open second-story window frame, instantly reversing your momentum.
2. Tin Roof Sliding: The corrugated metal roofs have reduced friction. Slap down onto an angled roof slope to gain instant sliding momentum, launching yourself over pursuers.
3. Corner Pinch-Climb: The dense street corners provide tight 90-degree alcoves where you can pinch-climb from ground to roof in under two seconds.

Installation & Setup Instructions

On PC VR:

1. Ensure Monke Map Loader is active in BepInEx/plugins/.
2. Download favelas_urban.gtmap below.
3. Move the file into:

   Gorilla Tag\BepInEx\plugins\CustomMaps\

4. Choose The Favelas on the treehouse computer terminal and jump through the portal!
