How to play The Favelas
Because it’s a mod.io map, there’s nothing to sideload: Quest and PC players both get it through the in-game Virtual Stump.
- Head to the Arcade in City and put on one of the green headsets to drop into the Virtual Stump.
- Not linked yet? The account screen in the Stump gives you a code to type in at mod.io/connect.
- Subscribe to The Favelas at mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/favelas while logged in to the mod.io account you’ve linked to Gorilla Tag.
- Pick The Favelas from the installed list on the maps terminal and load in. Expect a ~54 MB download the first time.
Custom maps aren’t available to accounts registered under 13.
Before you jump in
- It’s tagged Hangout, which usually means it’s best with a few friends in a private code rather than a full random lobby.
- The Roleplay tag means much of the fun depends on the group you play with. Agree on the scenario before you start.
- The last update was July 22, 2025. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from poison4600.
