What Is the Bouldering Map?

The Bouldering Map is a hyper-focused indoor rock climbing gym recreation built specifically for Gorilla Tag’s unique physics engine. While standard maps feature wide, forgiving wood branches and broad canyon walls, the Bouldering gym tests micro-precision hand placement across angled plywood overhangs, ceiling roofs, and color-coded climbing holds.

Whether you are practicing pinch-gripping, dyno jumps, or traversing across a 45-degree inverted wall, this map serves as the ultimate training ground for serious competitive runners.

Route Colors & Difficulty Grades

Just like a real bouldering gym, routes are categorized by hold color:

• Yellow / Green Holds (V0 – V2): Wide jug holds with high friction; ideal for warm-ups and beginners learning basic wall-hopping.
• Blue Holds (V3 – V5): Moderate slopers and narrow ledges requiring vertical arm control and continuous momentum.
• Red / Black Holds (V6 – V9): Punishing micro-crimps, flat volume slabs, and ceiling overhangs where touching anything outside the designated color resets your run.

The Dyno Challenge Zone

Located on the south wall of the gym is the dedicated Dyno Launch Area:

• Features isolated holds spaced 2.5 to 3.5 meters apart.
• Forces you to execute full-extension palm launches in mid-air, catching single-finger contact points before gravity pulls you onto the soft blue safety mats below.

Installation & Portal Instructions

On PC VR:

1. Ensure Monke Map Loader is active in BepInEx/plugins/.
2. Download bouldering_gym.gtmap using the link below.
3. Move the file into:

   Gorilla Tag\BepInEx\plugins\CustomMaps\

4. Select Bouldering at the treehouse terminal and step through the portal!
