Getting into Beneath

Beneath doesn’t need BepInEx or any PC mod loader. It runs through the official mod.io integration, so it works on Quest and on Steam/PC VR.

1. Jump into the Virtual Stump from the green headsets in City’s Arcade.
2. If the terminal says you’re not linked, enter the code it shows at mod.io/connect.
3. Find Beneath on mod.io (mod.io/g/gorilla-tag/m/beneath-alpha) and subscribe, logged in with your linked account.
4. On the maps terminal, show installed maps only, pick Beneath and load it. It’s around 60 MB, so the first load takes a bit.

Under-13 accounts are blocked from the Virtual Stump, so this won’t show up for them.

Things worth knowing

• With competitive or minigame tags, sessions play better when everyone has already loaded the map before the round starts.
• The last update was January 4, 2025. Big Gorilla Tag updates can break older maps, so if it won’t load, check the mod.io page for a newer file or a note from Toxv.
